What stage companies do you work with?
I enjoy and have experience working with the full range of early-stage startups, from pre-Seed to Series B or later. Examples include:
Pre-Seed & Seed. I've partnered with several founders at this stage, helping them position themselves for long-term success by building a solid financial foundation that improves their prospects of long-term success and freeing up their time to focus on achieving their strategic vision for their company. Areas of focus often include (1) building intuitive financial reporting providing a clear undrestanding of how they're doing, (2) creation of a strategic planning model to intentionally map out the course of action most likely to succeed, and (3) identification of tangible solutions to unlock the capital that they need to reach their potential.
Series A & Series B. I've also built and led the finance function for three venture-backed startups at this stage, helping them fundraise, optimize cash runway, identify opportunities to improve company performance, build strategic planning models and budgets, implement stage-appropriate tools and processes to help them scale, pursue M&A, negotiated business development agreements, as well as many other tasks to help grow their business.
How do you engage with your clients?
Clients generally retain me on a monthly basis, under either a 5-10 or 10-20 hours per week model, although I'll also consider project-based engagements. Clients are free to cancel at any time with no advance notice requirement, providing maximum client flexibility.
What does it mean to be purpose-driven?
Purpose-driven companies strive to create meaningful change, focusing not just on profit but on the well-being of individuals and communities around the globe. By aligning their business goals with the needs of society, these companies are not only transforming their industries but also contributing to a better world for future generations. Industry examples include (but are no means limited to):
